The drinkware company SIGG recently admitted to using the toxic chemical BPA in their plastic products and consumers are questioning the green nature of their new line. SIGG was one of the first companies to ‘offer’ BPA free products as an alternative to conventional plastic bottles. Believe what you want about SIGG, that’s not the point, but know that there are some alternatives out there for those interested.
Thermos Fogoo has released its line of BPA free drinkware for children and they break down into different phases based on age. Phase 1 is designed to fit small hands and is virtually un-spillable, each phase from 1 to 3 offers a progressive growth in the nature of the drinkware so that the child has room to grow. All three phases of drinkware are available in stainless steel and are a great alternative to BPA enriched plastic.
Stainless steel alternatives are a great alternative to plastic because they keep the drinks at the right temperature for longer meaning less time for bacteria to stew and less wasted drinks. Great for both children and parents, this type of drinkware is a green product that offers great utility. Thermos is a drinkware company that has been around for a long time, and although not always a green, it is now taking that approach and offering the same quality drinkware for children.
